Oral Assisting 2016-2017

Trainees will learn oral anatomy, sanitation and disinfection, oral pathology, preventive dentistry and radiography (x-ray). Other course goals include chair-side treatments, impressions and research study models, security requirements and regulations, observations and internships. Students should be understanding and communicate well with others. The trainee requires to be able to work individually in a diverse environment and as a team member. Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are required.

Other aids to success in this program are the ability to work under pressure, to alter working situations per hour, to be able to think on your feet, to read/comprehend technical oral information, and to remember oral terms and treatments consisting of anatomy and physiology. Completion of this course supplies a natural automobile for pre-requisite research studies toward innovative training in oral health.
