Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder disagreed with the NBA‘s COVID-19 policy Friday following his return to the lineup.

Schroder, who missed 4 video games because of the NBA’s health and wellness protocols, called for modification, per Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times: ” It injures, first off. I never ever had actually COVID. Checked negative the whole time. The situation is what it is. But the NBA I think got to do better. I think for sure they require to do much better. I mean, I evaluated negative the entire time. I never ever had positive. They got to figure that out, for sure.”

The Lakers lost all four games Schroder missed, but they bounced back with a 102-93 win over the Portland Trail Sports Jackets on Friday, as the eighth-year veteran ended up with 22 points, three rebounds and 2 assists.

Schroder’s criticism also took objective at the accuracy and consistency of the NBA’s COVID screening, as he said: “The test returned positive, then we put that back in: unfavorable. Did another one: favorable. Put it back in: negative. I don’t know at this point.”

With super star huge guy Anthony Davis out since of calf and Achilles injuries, Schroder’s lack loomed large, as it basically left LeBron James to take care of himself.

The outcomes weren’t great, as L.A. suffered losses to the Brooklyn Internet, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz.

Because of that losing streak, the Lakers went from battling with allure for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference to falling to third behind both allure and Los Angeles Clippers.

Now, the Lakers sit 3.5 games behind Utah, suggesting they will have an uphill climb throughout the 2nd half of the season, as they attempt to win video games while also handling the health of essential players.

Health and wellness procedures stay an inexact science in the NBA and all expert sports, as the major professional leagues attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as much as possible.

If Schroder indeed never ever had COVID-19, the health and safety protocols might have cost the Lakers some wins while he was out.

Still, the league continues to err on the safe side for excellent reason. If there was any opportunity of Schroder spreading out COVID-19 to his teammates, sitting him down for 4 video games prevented the whole group from having to delay games for a week or maybe a lot more.
