Students learn proper chairside procedures and techniques, x-ray exposure, processing, and mounting, practice sterilization techniques, and mix restorative and impression materials. Clinical experience is put into practice at The Ohio State University dental clinic in professional uniform and attitude.

Students can earn State Certification for Dental Assisting, State X-Ray Certificate, and Red Cross Certification in First Aid and CPR.

The Dental Assisting program located at both Eastland and Fairfield Career Centers includes studies in:

chairside duties
4-handed dentistry
sterilization techniques
restorative & impression materials
dental lab projects
x-ray exposure/processing
x-ray state certificate
